Our latest investment, Weedingtech Foamstream L12 will be operational from the beginning of May 2020.
Weedingtech technology first caught our attention back in 2018. This technology was developed in 2011 to control weeds and moss on hard surfaces without using chemical weedkillers such as glyphosate. The system uses hot water injected with vegetable-based foam.
Weed control has always been a trade-off between allowing nature to do its thing and control with the use of chemical herbicides. In certain environments, weeds moss, and algae need to be controlled. Surfaces can be damaged by invasive weeds, and become slippery and dangerous when moss and algae present.
Our experience in green space management does give us alternative long term landscaping solutions, to reduce maintenance with regard to unwanted vegetation. But let us be clear, they are long term structural solutions with a considerable upfront cost attached.
From the first demonstration, we could see the advantages provided by the Weedingtech Foamstream solution. For controlling/eradicating weeds on hard or soft surfaces this system is very efficient.
The Foamstream L12 is the latest offering from Weedingtech, bringing all the advantages from earlier machines. In addition to weed control, Vizionverte can now offer surface cleaning of street furniture, unsightly dirt and droppings, graffiti and chewing gum removal. In undertaking these cleaning solutions the surfaces are sanitized.
Delivery
Our L12 Foamstream has arrived, safely delivered to Lachaud transport in Riberac. We thank the staff at Lachaud Transport for handling our delivery. We unpacked the crate and the equipment was loaded on to our trailer. In our exuberance, we managed to load the machine backwards onto the trailer, so the next job, is to lift it off and turn it the correct way, so we can place a water tank in the correct position to the foamstream machine.
We hope to be trialing the L12 by Wednesday next week, and then will be ready to use on clients’ properties.
First Trial
The Weedingtech Foamstream L12 has been unpacked, mounted on a trailer, and ready to go.
To check everything was functioning correctly after its’ delivery journey, we decided to test it out on some rather annoying and unsightly moss that is spreading across my drive area.
It’s Saturday morning, and time to fire up the Foamstream L12. We sorted out the connections and operational instructions without much problem. Everything where it should be, and no surprises!
For a starter trial we treated the moss on the drive/parking area. This area is always prone to moss, so a good place to start.
We fired up the L12 and within 20 minutes the mossy area had been treated. We gave the area the once over with the Foam, and within a few hours, the results were obvious.
Within 24 hours the moss is dead, and the weeds well on the way.
The dead moss will turn to dust in the drying warmth of the sun and the debris disperse.
