Your swimming pool is all ready for summer; The water polished and crystal clear but how does your surrounding pool terrace match up? Maintain and clean your pool terrace all year round with our top tips and be ready for some summer fun.
This is general advice as terraces differ with tiles, slabs, decking or composite materials.
#1 Keep debris free Do not allow leaves and debris to lie on the terrace especially over the winter months.
#2 Clear the Area Move timber furniture/items off terrace during winter.
#3 Remove Algae and Moss In early spring, hose off the terrace and brush vigorously with a stiff deck brush to remove loose dirt. This loose dirt acts as a growing medium for algae and moss.
#4 Deep Clean During mid-spring, early summer, wash with a mild detergent, diluted vinegar solution or a bleach-based chemical. It is important to try a small area to check tiles are not damaged with the cleaning agent. There may also be surface degradation over time if using harsh chemicals.
